“It has been said of Peter’s work that “The magic lies in the essence of light.” (Tom Butterfield, The Masterworks Foundation, Bermuda). For me, the magic lies in the essence of Peter’s worship of land, sky and sea and his drive to document and preserve the rural Atlantic Canadian environment which, he feels, is slowly disappearing."

GPS Coordinates
A number of years ago I started adding GPS coordinates to all of my
paintings.I had been collecting these as a record of my journeys and the
places I have painted at. In 2003 Hurricane Juan dramatically changed the
landscape of Nova Scotia. My paintings with these coordinates of the
locations depicted prior to this hurricane, enable the the viewer to revisit
particular spots and bear witness to natures drastic changes. I like to
think of these coordinates as Earth Marks and will eventually form an
artistic map of my life.
